In Matthew 25: 31- 40 there is a list of six areas of potential Outreach: being hungry, being thirsty, being without clothing, being sick, being a stranger, and being in prison.

In 2007, 14.1 Million Americans lived in severe poverty. (67% lived in urban/ inner city areas). We must remember that the Church is not a sheltered sanctuary for the believers, but it is a survival station to love on those who are in need. Genuine Christian love expresses itself by giving of ones time and resources. It is foolish to tell someone who is hungry (to be feed in Jesus name), thirsty (to be quenched of thirst in Jesus name), naked (to be clothed in Jesus Name), or sick (to be well in Jesus Name); and to walk away from them without providing tangible evidence of the compassion of Jesus Christ. Our words of compassion must be accompanied by works of compassion. We must be an advocate for the poor and helpless, JESUS was. We truly believe that the people of God should function as one church family working together for the same mission, to advance the Kingdom of God.
